It is so much more than a ticket to heaven. In fact, for me, that rarely is even a consideration. It is all about my being a new creation now... seated with Him now... conformed to the image of Christ now.

Confidence comes when we truly seek to grasp this great mystery of the Gospel.Joel Spencerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02474230869182287895noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25635043.post-12827602989430591222009-08-23T14:43:42.943-04:002009-08-23T14:43:42.943-04:00Joel, you said

All was settled on the cross of Christ and when I grasp the vast promises made via the written Word, my understanding and confidence changes. Confidence – what an absolutely incredible asset that so few Believers possess. Confidence not in myself but in the fact that my God will do what He says He will do – period. Always. Forever. He can be nothing but perfectly true to all of His promises, even if they just seem too much in my limited intellect. There is none like Him and in Him I am all that He says that I am. You cannot shake that from me. My life is no longer focused on my failures or sin, but on my LORD."

Amen and amen. Praise the mighty Name of Jesus for that confidence absolutely nothing can shake. Whatever we are going through we have that confidence/deep assurance that He is with us and will not let us down. It's not a confidence we can have in or of ourselves, but has come from believing the promises in the written Word.Valeriehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00497030310714465235noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25635043.post-11935548469894783512009-08-23T08:11:18.298-04:002009-08-23T08:11:18.298-04:00Kay: Assurance changes everything. Understanding who I am in Christ, even if seemingly undeservedly so, is overwhelming.

Nina: Yes, words create, especially those spoken to us via the LORD. Within the Word resides everything that we'll ever need. If only the Body would realize the power within Its pages. The word of God with all of it's pronouns, adjectives, and adverbs is not just a noun, but a verb. If we start seeing every word that we read as a verb(an action word)then we can activate out faith. What many don't realize is that from the beginning words were never intended to communicate, but they were intended to create.God spoke and things came to pass. The written words are just a script of things that were spoken by God before time as we know it began. God never speaks just to communicate, but He speaks only so that things will come to pass. I guess that's why the Bible speaks of God as a "he". Only women talk just to be talking (smile). I pray that your friend grasp hold to this concept because until he does, he is limited and will never experience the fullness of God.I'll pray for him because I myself am still learning to grasp this concept. Not concerning salvation, but concerning other promises of God. But whatever the case, a promise is a promise and God's word will not return to Him void, but will accomplish that which it has set out to do.
BE BLESSEDNinapoethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02261153613707778441noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25635043.post-50929207269631429342009-08-22T20:30:41.465-04:002009-08-22T20:30:41.465-04:00Joel
