Darkness Abounds

Just last night I was part of a conversation with a good friend that was a high level Mason for many years. I've always been intrigued with their practices and the secrecy of it all. I even remember watching a lengthy documentary last year that interviewed ex-Masons and looked at the history of it all - it truly is quite eerie, to say the least.

Ironically, this morning I read a bulletin post by a "friend" on myspace that was bringing to light the fact that the mystical and spiritual side of secret societies and the like are starting to become mainstream. They linked to several t-shirts that are now being sold at places like Macy’s – I was truly amazed. Just for the sake of people being made aware of what is beginning to surface and, I believe, further integrate darkness into every day culture, I’ve posted them here, with a bit of info about each one.

This is in reference to the various orders of Illluminism, specifically Illuminatus Dirigens, or Scotch Knight of Illluminism. On the bottom, the shirt references, "Bohemian Grove". Located in northern California, Bohemian Grove is the place where the rich and powerful gather to attend the "Cremation of Care" ceremony held at the base of a 40 foot owl altar.

Serpent worship goes back more than 5,000 years and is intimately related to Freemasonry and the Illuminati. To Masons, it is "a symbol of Divine Wisdom, when extended at length; and with its tail in its mouth, of Eternity".

The Council is directly connected to worship of the Mystery Religions and claims to be the Ennead, or the nine major gods of ancient Egypt. Council of Nine is the name given to the council that leads the Church of Satan. The Order of the Rose and the Cross is a secret “brotherhood” order dating back to 15th century. It is associated with the symbol of the Rose Cross, the same cross used in “Blue Lodge” Freemasonry rituals. Its members consider themselves several magnitudes more advanced than common mortals and their “spiritual alchemy” derives from the Egyptian mysteries.

I’m only 35 and remember how “dark” images such as skull and crossbones or the infamous happy face with a bullet hole in his head shirts were at the time. Friend, the reality is, the world is growing more and more evil with each passing moment. I don’t fear it nor will I hide away and wait to be rescued. I will deliberately increase the Light of Christ within me. I will advance His Kingdom and darkness, although it surrounds me on every side, cannot come near me.

I encourage you to assess what you personally possess. I remember when I went through a phase many years ago where I had trinkets such as pewter wizards, ying and yang stuff and the like and, even way back then, God desired me to throw it all out. So I ask you, what is all around you? Do you have trinkets, collectibles or “things” that are actually representing death and darkness? Trust me, I know that you can get too legalistic with this kind of thinking. My point is, I want to be surrounded by Light because I know that a greater darkness is coming. I want NO affiliation with this world and its evil desires.

I truly believe that there continues to be a great call of holiness to those who will listen and heed the call. Will you? Will you sacrifice what the world deems as acceptable in order to be holy? Will you give up what you personally enjoy or cherish in order to be set apart as acceptable in the eyes of God? When it all comes down, one thing alone will matter – are you drawing closer and closer to Christ. If you are, then you will continually see all ties and connections to this world begin to become more and more detached. May we, His little flock be found holding high His Light for all to see. Some may draw near, many will flee – I will hold it high nonetheless for it is why I exist in this hour.

Joel,
Wow. Thanks for sharing this information on your post. It certainly causes my heart to sigh.
Indeed, I too, do not choose the darkness or fear. Jesus Christ is my Light, Love and Goodness. I desire only to shine love from inwards out.

Blessings,
~Amy :)

I was astounded reading this. There again, living in the world we do, I am not surprised. My Pastor preaches: Do a spiritual house-cleaning.. Not only of our souls but of our physical homes.. I have heard the Lord speak loud and clear for me to get rid of things that were in my possession.

Thanks for posting this..

Do you mind if I re-post this, with a link to your blog for my myspace "friends"?

God Bless..

Amy: Only His Light in us will drive out the darkness - it's not our strength, abilities or protests, it's Him. Thanks for stopping by again.

Stephanie: It is crazy when you approach it with spiritual eyes. It just makes no sense whatsoever that such content would ever make its way onto a tshirt.

As far as re-posting, pass it on to whoever, whenever, wherever.

Joel, this was a very insightful post, I've seen some crazy things on shirts, usually at hot topic but never the mainstream like Macy's or something like that. my lesson for tomorrow night is on Satan being a prowling lion, and funny to click on your blog and read about the prowling lion and his schemes - they are all around us and we need to remain faithful to the Lord and pray that he would open our eyes to such deceptions

satan has always used good things in a wrong manner..
My kids and I watched "Hell's Bells" years ago when they were young.. showing all the sneaky ways satan "mainstreams" his ways into the lives of believers..
He is just growing bolder as he KNOWS his time is short!

thanks for giving us one more eye opener Joel!
God bless you!

Andrew: Yeah, it's odd to me that things that aren't even close to subtle anymore are STILL viewed as "just the way things are". We're all deceivable I guess, on some level, so I choose to keep my spiritual eyes peeled.

Harriet: Agreed. Without question, as the coming of the Light gets nearer, the darkness will continue to grow as well. We just need to remember that the darkness knows it's already defeated and is just trying to make a scene.

I felt this call a while back. I took all of my posters of bands off my wall. Then I took all of the cds I knew were not good for me spiritually, which unfortunately was a lot, and threw them in a trunk in my closet and haven't seen them in months. I haven't looked back and was surprised by how much I don't miss them. I have since found a lot of great bands that bring a message of hope. Great blog! : )

Anonymous: Kudos for laying down all that hinders. Make sure you're also found obedient when He leads you to empty the trunk contents into a dumpster to finalize the deal!

Absolutely NOTHING is better than being found obedient in His sight. No CD collection, no possession, no earthly gain even compares.

I spent a ridiculous amount of time and money (I'm talking thousands of dollars)into ungodly music and books, but I can't even explain how great it felt and how worth it it was to trash it all.

A good idea for Anonymous #2 from Acts 19:19-20
Also, many of those who had practiced magic brought their books together and burned them in the sight of all. And they counted up the value of them, and it totaled fifty thousand pieces of silver. 20 So the word of the Lord grew mightily and prevailed.
