The Spirit Says, "Come"

OK, to all the Christian Obama haters that I’ve heard from or read about over the last 24 hours: I encourage you to sit back, take a deep breath and remind yourselves that the LORD is no less in control of all things now than He ever was.

I firmly believe that there is a great shaking coming to this nation - like she's never seen. Surprisingly to me, this season seems to be a great testing time for many Believers, with Obama winning the presidency. I’m seeing Christians all over the place really freaking out over it all. Many are being hateful and downright rude. Most I’ve heard from are concerned that much is about to change. While I don’t disagree whatsoever with the reality that some major changes are coming to America soon, my response is seemingly in stark contrast to most of what I’m hearing (I have plenty of personal views on what is to come under an Obama presidency - contact me if you're interested).

God has a plan, an order in place and not everything will fall into line as we would like it to. I am to pray one thing first and foremost: His will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. I cannot express enough how this has been resounding in my spirit over the last few days. What many Believers don’t seem to understand is that this nation is on a track straight to a fall - it is inevitable. We’ve been duped into believing that we’re going to all be wealthy and prosperous and magically “blessed” as we blindly continue on in sin and disobedience to God. Every day babies are helplessly murdered, homeless men gunned down, fathers and mothers abuse children, lies, deceit and sin rages on in every age and every class of people. Even our leaders, Christian or otherwise, are being exposed of their sin and shame. And we think that all is well? I just don’t get it. “Oh, it’s the homosexuals… No, it’s the liberals… well, it’s all the youth’s fault” – no my friend, it is this entire nation. A nation that stands tall and declares, with her actions, “We don’t need God, we are doing just fine all by ourselves!”

I rarely ever address these types of topics because it’s just not my thing. But as I just stated, I cannot shake the urgency of the Spirit that is saying “Come”. As people all over the country were saying, “Go! Go! Go to the polls! Let your voice be heard!”, the Spirit was (is) saying, “Come! Come! Come!”. It’s been the same theme, if you will, for days now. “Come all you who are weary and heavy laden. His Kingdom come, on earth as it is in Heaven. Come LORD Jesus and receive Your Bride." Over and over and over again, “come”. It is time that we return to our first love. It is time that we embrace, and be embraced by, the great love of our Father that first loved us. No politician, no pastor, no mere man can restore all that this nation has done. A Kingdom exchange must be made.

I know one blog post will likely not start a radical army to rise up and say, “Yes! His Kingdom come and alone be done upon this earth!”, but it is what we must be about in this hour. I ask you, can you be shaken? I see many that are being shaken by the outcome of this election. Many that are seemingly fearful and dreading the days to come. Although dark days are surely ahead, I will not fear. There is no fear in what is to come, for I don't live for the kingdoms of men established upon this earth. On Tuesday night, there was no "change" in the Kingdom that I represent and live for. The LORD alone reigns... now and forevermore – and this will never change. Do you daily dwell in this unshakeable Kingdom or are you swayed by the words and opinions of men? Are you rattled and angered when others oppose you and have alternate viewpoints? Does your world fall apart when things go against what you believe should happen? The Lord reigns – period. He is not caught off guard nor fearful of the days to come for He created each one of them. I choose to abide in His Kingdom, in His plans, in His agenda, for here alone is the solace that I will need to withstand the days to come. Where does my help come from? My help, my hope, my entire existence is in the LORD.

THE DAY FOLLOWING THE ELECTION I TOO WAS UPSET BUT THEN I FELT A SENSE OF PEACE. GOD REVEALED TO ME THAT THIS IS NOT A LOSS FOR THE CHRISTIANS BUT AN OPPORTUNITY FOR ADVANCEMENT. PROMOTION IF YOU WILL. THIS IS NOT A SIGN THAT THE WORLD HAS TOTALLY SOLD OUT TO THE OTHER SIDE(FOR LACK OF BETTER WORDS). ITS A SIGN OF A NEW FOUND OPEN-MINDEDNESS. THE WORLD WANTS ANSWERS AND THEY ARE TIRED OF THE USUAL RESPONSES. THEY ARE FRUSTRATED AND ARE AT THEIR WITS END.THEY ARE OPEN TO A NEW MINDSET AND A NEW WAY OF LIVING. THEY ARE READY FOR A CHANGE. AS A BELIEVER AND A DISCIPLE OF CHRIST THIS MEANS THAT THE SOIL IS RIPE. THEY ARE READY TO RECEIVE HIS KINGDOM. WE AS BELIEVERS WILL BE MORE NECESSARY THAN EVER AND WE MUST BE PREPARED TO TAKE AN OFFENSIVE
STAND.NOW MORE THAN EVER IS THE TIME FOR US TO TAKE OUR POSITIONS IN THE EARTH AND OCCUPY. YES THE GOVERNMENT MAY BE AGAINST US BUT THERE IS MORE WITH US THAN IS WITH THEM! PAY NO ATTENTION TO THE WHITE HOUSE BECAUSE THE KINGDOM IS GREATER THAN THE WHITE HOUSE. WE ARE THE MOST POWERFUL FIGHTING FORCE THAT THE WORLD HAS EVER SEEN AND THE WORD IS OUR GREATEST WEAPON. "UPON THIS ROCK (WHICH MEANS A STRONG FOUNDATION OF TRUTH) I WILL BUILD MY CHURCH AND THE GATES OF HELL SHALL NOT PREVAIL AGAINST IT!" WE HAVE TO PREPARE HIS KINGDOM. ITS UP TO US TO BUILD IT AROUND THE WHITE HOUSE. KEEP SPREADING TRUTH UNTIL THE HEAVENS CRY OUT "THE KINGDOMS OF THE WORLD HAS BECOME THE KINGDOMS OF OUR LORD!" SO I SAY AGAIN "WILL THE REAL CHURCH PLEASE STAN UP!"

What a true blessing to read your writings Joel. I was upset with the outcome as a Christian but I also knew this would be the outcome. I think the first day I just let what fears I did have go and I just sobbed for this nation and world and I cried out to God to have mercy upon his people and that His Will Be Done. I hate how God is despised and it tears me up inside to know that people would rather choose this world over the next. We are not to fear man but we should fear our Lord and Come to Him.

Matthew 10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

Put on the armor of God saints. I think Nina made a good point in that the fields are ripe. What an ecouraging blog.

Thanks Joel for discussing this. We just remember where our home truly is and trust that God is in control and that if we were to die today Praise God that His Will has been done in our lives.

Also to any Christian Hating Obama you MUST ask God to take that bitterness and hate out of your heart.
Mt 5:43 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.
Mt 5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
Mt 5:45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

I for one simply do not understand either the anger, or the fear, expressed by so many Christians at the thought of an Obama presidency. How people can think that Bush was any kind of better representative of the Kingdom of God is beyond me...

You wrote: "We’ve been duped into believing that we’re going to all be wealthy and prosperous and magically “blessed” as we blindly continue on in sin and disobedience to God. "

And while that is true, I think the unspoken assumption that goes along with that is the one that so many Christians carry, that it's even POSSIBLE for a nation to collectiviely "obey" God and walk in his favor. There is no way to be made right with God apart from an individual's repentance and clinging to Christ's sacrefice. Legislation and Supreme Court appointments will not change a single human heart, all they do is attempt to surpress the symptoms of the sin that is in every one of us.

We are not "slipping" into some moral decline, we were all born dead in our sins.

There is no "Christian" foundation for the United States, the only nation that is truly founded on Christ is His own Kingdom...

I pray that at least through this change of the presidency, more people will wake up from the delusion that if we only get the "right man" in the white house, then everything can be made right again. We are no more "in trouble" now than we were when Adam and Eve ate from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil...

MY CONCERN IS NOT THAT OUR PRESIDENT IS A REPRESENTATIVE FOR THE KINGDOM OF GOD. MY CONCERN IS THE FACT THAT PEOPLE WHO WOULD CALL THEMSELVES BELIEVERS WOULD RELATE WORLD POLITICS TO THE WILL OF GOD. OR MUCH WORSE, THAT THEY WOULD ENDORSE ANY CANDIDATE WHOSE VIEWS CONTRADICT TRUTH. I AM A BLACK WOMAN LIVING IN THE DEMOCRATIC STATE OF MARYLAND WHERE PEOPLE HELD FREEDOM RALLIES AND CHURCHES HELD WATCH NIGHT SERVICES TO WELCOME IN OUR NEW PRESIDENT WHO WAS MEANT TO BRING ABOUT CHANGE. YES I WOULD LOVE TO SEE SOME ONE OF MY COLOR IN THE WHITE HOUSE BUT MY LOYALTY FIRST AND FOREMOST IS TO GOD AND HIS KINGDOM. MY MOTHER, MY FATHER, MY SISTER, MY BROTHER IS THOSE WHO DO THE WILL OF MY FATHER! I VOTE FOR THE CANDIDATE WHO LEAST CONTRADICTS TRUTH. YES THE ECONOMY IS A MESS BUT GOD CAN CONTROL THE ECONOMY BUT BECAUSE OF THE FREEDOM OF CHOICE(THAT GOD GAVE US)HE CAN NOT CONTROL OUR MORALITY. THAT IS OUR RESPONSIBILITY . I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE "PREACHERS" WHO PROFESSED THAT THE RECESSION DID NOT CONCERN THE CHRISTIAN SINCE WE ARE NOT BOUND BY THE WORLDS ECONOMIC ISSUES AND WE DONT LIVE BY THEIR SYSTEMS, YET ONLY TO TURN AROUND AND RALLY AROUND THE CANDIDATE FOR CHANGE. WHICH IS IT? THE TRUTH IS OBAMA AND HIS POLITICS HAVE NO PLACE IN THE CHURCH SINCE THEY DO NOT ADDRESS TRUTH. LIBERALISM IS SIMPLY THE FREEDOM TO LIVE OUTSIDE OF THE WILL OF GOD.YES WE HAVE THAT RIGHT, BUT THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS ABOUT RESTORATION. IF A PERSON HAS AN OPINION THAT DOES NOT CONCERN TRUTH{WHETHER IT IS VIEWED CONTRADICTORY OR NOT}THEN THEY SHOULD NOT INVOLVE GOD BECAUSE IT DOES NOT CONCERN HIM. PERIOD.EXPRESS THOSE VIEWS AS A CONCERNED VOTER, DONT REPRESENT YOUR SELF AS A BELIEVER BECAUSE THEN YOU MAY BE MISTAKEN AS A REPRESENTATION OF THE KINGDOM AND WE ALL KNOW THAT KINGDOM IS ABOUT RESTORATION, TRUTH AND ORDER. I TRY NOT TO ADDRESS THE OBAMA ISSUE BECAUSE IT DOES NOT CONCERN ME. MY PURPOSE IS TO DO MY PART IN RESTORING THE KINGDOM. LET THE DEAD BURY THEIR DEAD! YES I WAS DISAPPOINTED LIKE ANYONE ELSE WOULD BE WHEN SOMETHING DOES NOT GO THE WAY THAT THEY HAD HOPED, BUT THEN I WAS SO OVER IT. BECAUSE I DONT LIVE BY THE WORLDS STANDARDS. I LIVE BY FAITH. I AM UPSET TO SEE A WHOLE NATION OF PEOPLE PUTTING THEIR FAITH IN ONE MAN FOR CHANGE WHEN THE CHANGE STARTS WITH US AND IT ENDS WITH GOD. THE ISSUE IS NOT WHO WON OR LOST BUT IT IS THE FOCUS THAT WAS PUT INTO THE MATTER.PERIOD.WE MUST NOT LOOSE FOCUS. WE MUST BE CAREFUL THAT WE DO NOT BECOME GUILTY OF THE ULTIMATE "PUT NO OTHER GOD BEFORE ME" I DONT HATE OBAMA BECAUSE I KNOW THAT WE WRESTLE NOT WITH FLESH AND BLOOD BUT WITH SPIRITS AND PRINCIPALITIES. I HATE THE FACT THAT HE HAS BECOME AN OBSESSION AND I HATE THE ABOMINABLE WAY THAT HIS FOLLOWERS SEEMINGLY WORSHIP HIM.I ENDORSE NO MAN BUT JESUS CHRIST. HE IS THE ONLY MAN WHO HAS PROVEN HIMSELF TO BE FAITHFUL TO ME

Great thoughts from Daniel too.

The Christian community in this country is living a delusion. They live in a fairy tale land that blames everyone and everything else for our own terrible examples and witness.

Stephanie: Always feel free to repost anything here.

Nina: While you went alot further down the political road than I choose to, you brought up some good points. Thanks for sharing!

Mike and Barb: It is time that the Church wake up and choose where She will reside. I'm with you, I choose the eternal Kingdom of God.

Daniel: You're right when you stated that "no entire nation will collectively 'obey; God and walk in his favor" - especially in response to any one presidential candidate.

While we are all inherently sons of Adam, I do believe that we are, as mankind, moving further and further away from God's laws. Look around, even churches seldom talk about biblical holiness and keeping of the commands of God. If the Church cannot even seek after holiness, how in the world do we expect the world to?

I enjoy your responses Daniel.

Nina: Again, I'm just not quite as politically motivated in all of this as you seem to be. Not criticizing whatsoever, just stating that you've put much more thought into it all than I.

Mark: I'm afraid all fairy tales and superstitions are about to come to a close before too long. We must be found awake and aware.

Don't Be Mislead: I'm not really sure what your point is regarding the patriotism comment, other than your allegiance lies in the LORD - and, in that I'm with you.

Imagine that, christians that hate.....kind of like muslims that hate. I enjoyed the article you wrote. my whole life i have been taught that it is wrong to pass judgement, that it is wrong to not only say words that are damaging, but to also think it.

I am a christian, i have been for my whole adult life, but some "true" christians would tell you otherwise. so, my question is this, if God and only God has the right to judge anyone, what gives the "true" christians the idea that they can too? and when you ask them about it, they NEVER can answer your question.

Did it ever occur to "true" christians that God selected Obama to be our president? after all, he is in charge of all, right? In a sense, God has just tested ALL christians and sadly I have to say that many failed. They failed because instead of trusting God, they question his choice. If God is in charge of all, and I do believe in my heart that he is, then why question anything he does. I can only hope that the "true" christians understand the word "humble", they may want to consider a new attitude.

I have never in my life met a perfect christian, only those that think they are and that is what turns people away. I believe they call them hypocrites and many, many were exposed since Barack Obama won the presidency, so how "true" are they really.

IT IS NOT THAT I AM A POLITICAL PERSON. I WAS RESPONDING TO LIKE A MUSTARD SEED WHEN HE SAID THAT NEITHER CANDIDATE WAS A GOOD REPRESENTATION OF THE GOSPEL.I JUST GET FRUSTRATED WHEN PEOPLE MIX THE GOSPEL WITH POLITICS.I WENT TO A CHURCH SUNDAY WHERE THEY WERE PLANNING A PRE-ELECTION DAY SERVICE AND ON OUR RADIO STATIONS THEY ARE MIXING GOSPEL SONGS WITH CLIPS OF OBAMAS SPEECHES. IT SADDENS ME. PEOPLE ARE RALLYING AROUND THIS ELECTION ESPECIALLY THE PEOPLE OF GOD AND THEY ARE NOT GOING ABOUT THEIR FATHERS BUSINESS.
THE TITLE OF YOUR FIRST BLOG WAS OBAMA HATERS AND I WAS MAKING THE POINT THAT WE ARE DEALING WITH THINGS AS BELIEVERS THAT ARE MUCH GREATER THAN OBAMA. IT SEEMS LIKE GODS PEOPLE GET SO FOCUSED ON THINGS! THINGS THAT DO NOT TEND TO EDIFY. LIKE A MUSTARD SEED SAID "IS IT EVEN POSSIBLE FOR AN ENTIRE NATION TO COLLECTIVELY OBEY GOD AND WALK IN HIS FAVOR. IM NOT SAYING THAT IT WILL HAPPEN BUT AS DISCIPLES OF CHRIST THAT SHOULD BE OUR GOAL. WE CANT JUST JUMP ON THE BANDWAGON AND SAY IF YOU CANT BEAT THEM JOIN THEM. WE MUST DO OUR PART IN RESTORING THE KINGDOM. JESUS CHARGED US TO THAT. SO WE MUST TAKE A STAND. FOR ME THAT MEANT THAT I HAD TO GO AGAINST THE GRAIN WHEN IT CAME TO PICKING A PRESIDENT WHICH BY THE WAY SEEMED TO ANGER A LOT OF PEOPLE WHO FELT LIKE I WAS BEING DISLOYAL TO WHO I AM. MY OPPOSITION DID NOT MATTER ANYWAY IN THE END, BUT I HAVE THE RESPONSIBILTY TO TAKE A STAND EVEN IF THINGS SEEM INEVITABLE.

As believers it is our civic duty to roll up sleeves and become involved in the world around us. We are the light bearers, the salt of the earth. If we do not stand up for truth and right values who will? I spent the whole day in prayer, when I realized that Obama was going to win a deep seated dread filled my heart. I continued to pray and that dread was replaced with the spirit of peace, himself. We must place our eyes on the Prince of Peace and look to him and be available in the days ahead. Great will be the need for us to stand up at this time.

Joel - You made a good point, that there is a increase in the evil behavior in the greater society (which the bible actually predicts will happen the closer we get to the end...) But we should always remember that even if we are seeing an escalation in the symptoms of sin around us, they are still just that, symptoms. It doesn't mean that people today are any more fallen than they've always been, and the one answer to that fallen condition remains to be Christ!

Nina - You responded to my comment: "IS IT EVEN POSSIBLE FOR AN ENTIRE NATION TO COLLECTIVELY OBEY GOD AND WALK IN HIS FAVOR..."

By saying: "IM NOT SAYING THAT IT WILL HAPPEN BUT AS DISCIPLES OF CHRIST THAT SHOULD BE OUR GOAL. WE CANT JUST JUMP ON THE BANDWAGON AND SAY IF YOU CANT BEAT THEM JOIN THEM."

I just have to say, that yes, our goal AS DISCIPLES, is to walk in God's favor, and reflect his person... However, that's different than trying to achieve some society-wide embodiment of "godly values" or other such endeavors. The bible teaches us that we cannot bring the Kingdom of Heaven about through human, political means, and I am certainly not advocating that. I certainly don't applaud churches or pastors or radio personalities for picking one side or the other in the name of Christ. We are to take a stand, but it goes way beyond voting for this candidate or that...

What I'm still trying to understand is this:

Why are Christians who are so wrapped up in being politically active, who are so dismayed at the recent election of Obama, why aren't they JUST as dismayed by the horrendous negative impact that eight years of the Bush presidency has had on the name of Christ and the Gospel? Why do "evangelicals" (to use the now politically-charged term) seem unwilling to acknowledge that people throughout this country, and indeed all over the world, now equate Christ (due to Bush calling himself a Christian) with everything from reckless war-making, to lying, to corporate greed, torture, etc... Even McCain/Palin, who all the politically-charged Christians are now so disapointed that they lost, had to totally disassociate themselves from the former president. He is now a by-word around the globe. So much for achieving societal change and steering the culture towards "conservative values"...

Personally, I'd rather there be a president who's a "Godless liberal", than one who's professes to be a follower of Christ, and then proceeds to make decision after decision that goes completely counter to what Jesus teaches. I think Bush has done more damage to the gospel and the name of Christ than Obama or any democrat could ever do....

Jeremiah 17:5-8
(5) Thus saith YHWH: Cursed is the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from YHWH. (6) For he shall be like a tamarisk in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, a salt land and not inhabited. (7) Blessed is the man that trusteth in YHWH, and whose trust YHWH is.
(8) For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out its roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but its foliage shall be luxuriant; and shall not be anxious in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.

My friend, trusting in man is the last thing we should be doing. This country looks to follow others rather than listen to what God instructed them to do. When they follow, they become dependent.

Since there is no real leadership, it should begin in the home, with the fathers, teaching their children the way they should go rather than depending on someone else to teach and lead their children.

Have a good weekend.

It's funny, I hear it all the time how much of a Christian George Bush is and it blows my mind. Do those people actually know the guy? I'm sure he is a pretty good guy, good father, good husband, but only God knows what kind of Christian he is, right? Those that bash Obama are guilty for the exact same reasons they don't like him. Apparently he is not Christian enough, but how Christian is it to bash anyone? How Christian is it to pass judgement on anyone? But, most of all, how Christian is it to accuse a man that WE all don't know personally of not being a Christian. It's a double standard, it's hypocritical to do so. What makes Bush and the rest of the Republican party Christian? Is it the fact that they oppose abortion, but approve the death penalty? Remember Bush was Governor of Texas and he alone did nothing in sparing the life of convicted murders and rapist. Horrible, unthinkable crimes, but the Bible says "Tho shall not kill", right? So how Christian is that? The problem I have with "Christians" is that they tend to leave certain things out. People can quote scriptures all day long, but if you don't apply ALL of it to your own life, you have no right trying to apply it to somebody else.

Wes: I'd encourage you to read a previous article within this blog where I address exactly what you're referencing.

An excerpt: "If we see an athlete on TV thank God for a win or an ability, we say “Hey honey – Look! ‘So and so’ is a Christian! Yeaaa!” If the car next to me has a “Jesus Fish” on their car, I might even smile and wave! Why? Well, because they’re a Christian of course, silly! Do you go to church? Yes? Great! *Ding!* - they must surely be a Believer!"

I can't magically assume and know who is a true Christian and who is not (especially via TV interviews andpress conferences). That's why it's imperative that we hear what the Spirit is saying in all matters - and move accordingly.

Thanks for your input.

I AGREE WITH MOST OF YOU AND JUST LIKE MOST ISSUES THERE IS SOME TRUTH IN EVERYTHING. ESPECIALLY THE PART ABOUT WAR CRIMES AND NOT KNOWING IF SOMEONE IS TRULY LIVING THE LIFE OF A CHRISTIAN. IT IS NOT UP TO US TO JUDGE OR DETERMINE. HOWEVER AS FAR AS THE DEMOCRATIC/ LIBERALIST VIEWS THERE IS NOTHING TO JUDGE OR DETERMINE. THEY HAVE MADE A PUBLIC DECLARATION THAT THEY ARE TOTALLY AGAINST WHAT THE BIBLE DECLARES TO BE TRUTH. THAT IS NOT A JUDGMENT THAT IS FACT. WHICH IS TOTALLY DIFFERENT FROM WHAT IS HIDDEN BY MAN AND WILL BE JUDGED BY GOD. WHEN WE VOTE WE MAKE A DECISION ON WHICH VIEWS WE DEEM TO BE RIGHT OR WRONG. YES WE ALL MAKE MISTAKES BUT WE DO NOT MAKE A PUBLIC DECLARATION THAT THOSE MISTAKES ARE RIGHT BECAUSE WE EXCEPT THEM TO BE ERROR. WE DONT JUST VOTE TO MAKE THEM LAW BECAUSE IT MAKES OUR LIFESTYLES EASIER TO DEAL WITH.AS FAR AS THE WAR IS CONCERNED,WE KNOW BY READING OUR BIBLES THAT WAR IS BIBLICAL. DAVID WAS THE GREATEST WARRIOR THEIR WAS, ISRAEL STAYED AT WAR. IN FACT GOD HIMSELF SENT THEM TO WAR MANY TIMES TELLING THEM ONCE TO SPARE NO ONE AND YET ANOTHER TO COLLECT THE SPOIL. I AM BY NO MEANS IMPLYING THAT GOD ORDAINED THIS WAR OR THAT BUSH WAS RIGHT.AT ALL!! PLEASE KNOW THAT. BUT I DO KNOW THAT THE BIBLE STATES IN ECCL3:8 THEIR IS A TIME FOR WAR AND A TIME FOR PEACE. I AM NOT SAYING THAT THIS WAS A TIME FOR WAR, BUT IT IS NOT TOTALLY CONTRADICTORY TO TRUTH. THE BIBLE NEVER ONCE SAID THAT THEIR WAS A TIME FOR A MAN TO LAY WITH ANOTHER MAN NOR VICE VERSA. IN FACT IT STATED THAT IT WAS AN ABOMINATION.WE AS BELIEVERS SHOULD NOT PUT OUR FAITH IN ANY MAN, BUT WE HAVE AN OBLIGATION TO DO OUR PART WHENEVER POSSIBLE TO CHOOSE TRUTH AND TRY TO PREVENT UNBIBLICAL VIEWS FROM BECOMING LAW. REGARDLESS OF THE CANDIDATE.HOWEVER WE KNOW THAT GOD IS IN CONTROL AND EITHER WAY, AS BELIEVERS WE WIN IN THE END!

so my question is, what about the people that do not share the same views as christians? this is exactly why church and state should be separate. one of the luxuries of living in this country is that we get to experience the diversity all around us. should we ban all muslims and mormons or Buddhist from voting? they don't share the same views as christians, so laws should not be passed based on a parties religious belief. just because a politician says he is pro-choice does not mean that you have to be as well. christians think that they need to mold society into a perfect sculpture and it will never happen. as americans, we have freedom of choice. i don't have a right to force feed my beliefs on anyone. if christians disagree with this, then answer me this question...why are you not knocking on doors everyday and sharing the word of God with your neighbors? why are you not on the street "saving" lives? i'll tell you why, because it is not convenient for you. so please, if you can't walk the walk, don't talk the talk. the above post stated that democrats and liberals denounced what the bible says, who? all of them? how is it possible to know that EVERYONE associated with that party did that? organized religion at times is a joke. i can go to church like i do and listen to only the word and feel content. but, most of the time there is someone their trying to pimp out his book, asking you to dip into your pocket and give, give and give some more. i have never met so many "perfect" people in my life, they do no wrong.

Ninapoet said...

the reason that you become either a democrat or republican is not because of a candidate. it is because of the views of the party. if you agree with the views then you join that party. thats why they are liberal and conservative view. and yes i spread the gospel evvery day. their is not onnen day that goes by that i dont spread the gospel. its not a task for me, i enjoy doing it. it is a part of my lifestyle. its who i am. i am not by any means telling you what to believe. the choice is yours. i was sharing why i did not vote for the democrats. however, now that they have the chair i will be praying for them just like i prayed for the bush administration. like i said God is in control and either way I(as a believer) win in the end. That is just my belief and it works for me.
