Friends,
today you, yet again, have a choice to make. Will it be Easter or the Feasts of
the LORD? The Word of God makes it clear that He will not tolerate mixing.
There is no scriptural evidence of Easter celebrations (KJV stated Easter one
time and was then deemed incorrectly translated and was changed back to correctly
define “pascha”, which always meant Passover or “pesach”, never Easter). Today
is First Fruits, within the Feast of Unleavened Bread that will last 7 days,
following Passover. We see scriptural evidence that this remained through
Messiah and was still entirely in place within the Church, post-Death/Burial/Resurrection/Pentecost
in Acts, roughly ten years after Yeshua perfectly fulfilled His life’s purpose.
Acts 12:1-4 “Now
about that time Herod the king laid hands on some who belonged to the Church in
order to mistreat them.
And he had James the brother of John put
to death with a sword. When
he saw that it pleased the Jews, he proceeded to arrest Peter also. Now it was
during the days of Unleavened Bread. When he had seized him, he put him in prison, delivering him
to four squads of soldiers to guard him, intending after the Passover to bring
him out before the people. So Peter was kept in the prison, but prayer for him was being
made fervently by the church to God.”
Many could say that this is merely a "time marker" alone, so let's continue. Another reference that we see (and there are many other Scriptures that attest to this), is in regards to Paul and “feasts” in Acts 18, “And he came to Ephesus, and left them there: but he himself entered into the synagogue, and reasoned with the Jews. When they desired him to tarry longer time with them, he consented not; but bade them farewell, saying, I must by all means keep this feast that cometh in Jerusalem: but I will return again unto you, if God will. And he sailed from Ephesus.”
What about Acts 20:16? “For Paul had determined to sail by Ephesus, because he would not spend the time in Asia: for he hasted, if it were possible for him, to be at Jerusalem the day of Pentecost.”
So why does Christianity, that claims to “be” the Acts Church, established upon the teachings of Paul, not do what we see the Church (and Paul) do? Do you keep Pentecost? Do you keep Passover? Or, in the third century, did “the Church” come up with “better ways” to honor the LORD?We see no biblical evidence whatsoever where Paul, or any other, commanded us to leave the Feasts behind and start new observances.
Even later, we see the Days of Unleavened Bread still being observed in Acts chapter 20: “We sailed from Philippi after the days of Unleavened Bread, and came to them at Troas within five days; and there we stayed seven days.”
Why would
they STILL be observing and referencing these Feast days? I thought Yeshua
(Jesus) came to “change everything” and create a “new religion” that abolished all
that was established for Israel (the eternal Church/Nation of Yahweh God)? Absolutely
not. The Early Church knew fully well what had been instated for God’s people
that remained THROUGH Yeshua. They knew Exodus 12:15 which states, “Seven
days you shall eat unleavened bread, but on the first day you shall remove
leaven from your houses; for whoever eats anything leavened from the first day
until the seventh day, that person shall be cut off from Israel.”
This
is why these Feasts continued in the Church, post-Messiah, until the Roman church
removed them all and instituted their own new way of worshiping the Lord and established
new celebrations according to a new calendar, such as Easter. As I'm always asking, do we have any instruction whatsoever where Yeshua told us that we were to abandon the Feasts after He fulfilled His life? Did He ever teach us, or any Apostles for that matter, that we were to change the calendar of God's chosen people and adopt other practices?
So, the
question remains, if the Acts Church continued to keep the Feasts and observe
what was established all the way back with Israel, in Exodus, why does modern
Christianity think that they can celebrate Easter and abandon the Feasts of the
LORD? Friends, they are NOT the same! Please, be one found willing to lay aside
your traditions and doctrines of men that you inherited. Withdraw alone and
pray with your family. Fast. Cry out to God to reveal anything in your heart
and life that is not what He delights in. I’m more convinced with each passing
day that this is the hour of returning to His ancient way.
Many are having
eyes opened to the error of Christian traditions and seeing the LORD’s perpetual
Feasts that we’re commanded to keep forever, throughout all generations. Paul
knew this. The entire Acts Church and those coming into Messiah knew this! Will we? Or we will cling to the holidays of
men? We must decide. We cannot have both and be found pleasing in the sight of
the LORD. These are exciting times! Revelation of reclaiming what has been lost
is coming to the Church!

Joel, thank you for you're challenging insights. As I read in the Old Testament more and more about the ancient ways, I realize something is a miss.
Amen
