When A Righteous Man Repents

I love, love, love this account of Josiah! When a righteous man, who is right in the eyes of Yahweh, sees another level of his need and lack, he falls to his knees in humility.

Thousands of years later, here we all are. Nothing at all has changed. Man is still wayward and lawless. The Torah of Elohim has been lost… yet again.

But the High Priest is again bringing it out for all to see! (You might want to read that again and think about what I just said.) Men with hearts like Josiah, all over the earth, are listening to It and allowing It to again perform Its task. Repentance! Returning! Teshuvah!!!!!

We must take the time to see this wonderful pattern in the Scriptures. Josiah was a righteous man. He was right in Yahweh’s sight. Yes! And! And, when the revelation of the Torah came, It revealed that in many ways they had all not been walking in the fullness of all that Yahweh had for them, as a people.

It’s also worth noting that King Josiah did not exempt himself from the need of humility and repentance. In fact, he led the way! While many today love to point fingers at others – what others are doing or not doing – this is not the case for the righteous kings and prophets that we see in the Word. They always include themselves and speak from a stance of “us” and “we.” The blame and the responsibility is always corporate for the People of Elohim.

It would do the Body well to return to this understanding and move away from the individualistic Gospel that doesn’t affect anyone else. Even if we’re as Josiah, not turning to the right or the left, as more is revealed, what will we do with what we see? Will we remain satisfied with where we’ve been or will we humble ourselves, before Yahweh and men and move further? Let us choose well! Selah.

* I have several in-depth teachings on this, for anyone interested. I’ll place a link in the comments.
