The Most High is most assuredly a covenant-keeping Elohim, yes! But a covenant requires two parties. One does their individual part and the other performs and carries out their part. Only then does this binding principle work properly to carry out the covenant’s purpose.
We see this all throughout Scripture when we read of the endless “when you… I
will” language. Today’s text is no different. Yes, Yahweh is merciful. Yes! “For
those who fear Him.” Yes, Yahweh’s justice carries of legacy throughout the
generations. Yes! “To those who keep His covenant and remember His precepts and
do them.”
Let us not be negligent and lazy stewards and inheritors today. In a religious world that boasts in doing very little, if anything, but receiving, let us read the Word and do as It says in order for us to be a set apart People, for Yahweh’s Great Name’s sake.
