The Ingathering

Most of us have heard Jeremiah 29:11 for the majority of our lives. As is often the case though, we stop reading too soon. Not to mention, we’re likely entirely unfamiliar with context of the verse. The “promise” is grabbed and applied to everyone, no matter what we do or who we are. I even remember this verse being errantly used in “evangelism courses” to "invite people to Jesus."

But if we keep reading we see something interesting. The Gospel. While many people would say that these verses were accomplished in 1948, with the establishment of the state of Israel, there is so much more to these prophecies.

A greater ingathering is coming. Yahweh will assemble His scattered ones - those in that are the promised seed of Abraham. Those revealed and delivered to Him by the Son. Do we understand the imagery of the first exile? Do we grasp the call to be sojourners here in a wilderness land? Do we truly join into those who went before us, longing for a New Jerusalem city that is yet before us?

The culmination of the ages results in a People, a Family. Yahweh's set apart Family. Let us prepare our hearts today, for what may be unfolding tomorrow. Selah.

I'm just now starting to hear about this. Many years ago I challenged the mainstream rapture doctrine and was always shunned because of it. As this post highlights, I'm beginning to see what the Bible has told us! There is much more to the finished work of the cross than just salvation for individuals!

Thanks for helping me see it a bit more clearly. Do you also do the videos that I've seen linked here?
