What is Evil? What is Good? Who Says?

With every passing moment, culture (both religious and secular) is redefining what is considered good and what is considered evil. The world lives as if there is little to no consequence for anything. And the religious church drags the paintbrush of grace over it all.

Denominations and belief systems are becoming more and more “accepting” of nearly all behavior and practices. In time, all culturally appropriated religions will land here. Even evangelicals, eventually. It is the fruit of loose living doctrine and is only a matter of time.

So, what is our code of living then? Who or what defines what is good? Who defines what is evil? Do we merely “walk in Holy Spirit” speaking “yes” or saying “no” to each one individually, as if the Spirit’s guidance is some sort of mystical Ouija board? What did men before us do? What did the righteous ones like Abraham, Moses and Noah do? What did men like these cling to, in order to define how to live? How about the prophets?

How about Yeshua Himself? How did He learn how to live? How about the post-resurrection Assembly of called out ones? What did these men leave behind and what did they move towards? (Hint: What did the Jerusalem Council point them to, in Acts 15?)

It would do us well to be a discerning people in this age. Be careful to believe the lie that Christianity is somehow above being duped by the enemy. Look around, friend. We will all be next if we’re not careful. Careful to do what? To learn what Yahweh Himself says is good. What He says is evil. Our opinions, our ideas, our cultural vantagepoints… mean… absolutely… nothing. He alone defines what is right.

Study the Scriptures, friend. Find Yahweh’s counsel, instructions and commandments. Then, walk in them like our father Abraham. Then… then! Then, perhaps we can be part of his prophesied seed and be counted worthy to bear Yahweh’s great Name. The world is growing darker. Let us walk in the light so that we will be able to test and know – what is good? What is evil? Selah.
